SPEAKER: DR. ALICE MARIA CRAWFORD

Alice Maria Crawford, Ed.D. Over the course of her life Alice Maria Crawford has been able to live out her passion of investing in the lives of others. She worked with youth and young adults for over forty years, both as a public school teacher and youth leader in the church. During her career with the Chicago Public Schools she had opportunity to experience the full spectrum of the educational arena. Becoming a Christian in her early adult years, she felt the most important gift she could give her own eight children was an introduction to what it means to live as a Christian. She was actively involved in the development of their spiritual life serving in the church, as well as having church at home! She later became an ordained minister of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and used every opportunity to reach hearts for the Kingdom of God. She founded HeartLife Ministries Inc. to provide a forum for young and gifted leaders to have the opportunity to utilize and perfect their gifts through seminars, workshops, retreats, etc. Recognizing her responsibility as a Christian went beyond the walls of the church, she participated in civic involvement ranging from local organizations to state and national organizations. In addition, she has been an outspoken advocate for the Right-to-Life from natural conception to natural death, actively working with Pro-Life/Pro-Family Coalition, doing extensive writing and public speaking on issues relevant to the health and wholeness of the nuclear family from natural conception to natural death. Toward the end of her professional career, she began to utilize her advanced degree as an adjunct professor at Chicago State University and Roosevelt University teaching courses to prepare graduate education students. Continuing to invest in the spiritual formation of the next generation, she has been an active partner with young adult and parent organizations by providing seminars and workshops addressing topics relevant to successful parenting; not to mention giving as much love and support as she can to her now twenty-nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, and the many, many other children and grandchildren she has been privileged to become mother and grandmother to while sharing in their lives. God has also afforded her the opportunity to do women s Bible Studies, currently serving as the Leader of a Coffee Break Bible Study, and the Thursday night group of eager Bible students. Her hope is to continue to upbuild the Kingdom of God as long as she has opportunity. "
